You started a business.
Not a back office.
We built SpaceOS so small businesses can spend their days on customers, products, and craft — not on the administrative operations that quietly eat them.
Why we made this
Admin ops were winning. We wanted the business to win.
Talk to any small-business owner and you hear the same day described: mornings spent serving customers, evenings spent being an unpaid administrator. Reconciling the till against a spreadsheet. Chasing invoices. Re-typing the same customer into a third tool. Working out payroll by hand. The business people started — the baking, the coaching, the community — gets whatever energy is left over.
The tools were the problem. Big-company software is priced and designed for big companies; the SMB alternative is a stack of five subscriptions that don't talk to each other, each solving a tenth of the job. Every gap between tools becomes manual work, and every piece of manual work lands on the owner at 10pm.
So we built the system we wished those owners had: one place where sales, stock, bookings, billing, payroll, and an online store already share the same customers and the same books — with the local payments and delivery realities of their market built in, not bolted on. Switch it on, and the admin runs itself; you run the business.
Where it started
Born from running real spaces
SpaceOS didn't start as a pitch deck. It started with the daily grind of actually operating shared spaces — a coworking floor where the booking sheet lived in one tool, the café till in another, and invoicing in a third that agreed with neither. Every day ended with someone reconciling numbers by hand.
We believed something simple: every café tab, desk booking, and invoice should live in one system. Not integrated, not synced — the same system, sharing one login, one customer list, and one set of books. That belief became the architecture, and the architecture became SpaceOS.
SpaceOS is built by Portonics, a product studio that has spent over a decade building platforms used by millions. We run our own spaces on the software we ship — which keeps us honest, and keeps the product close to the people who depend on it.
How we build
Principles we don't compromise on
Four convictions shape every module we ship.
Modular by design
Nineteen modules, four product families, one platform. Switch on only what your space needs today and add the rest in a click — no migration, no new vendor.
One source of truth
Every café tab, desk booking, invoice, and payslip lives in the same system — one login, one customer list, one set of books. No spreadsheets glueing tools together.
Ship weekly
The platform improves every week, and every change lands in the changelog. What we ship is driven by what operators ask for, not a roadmap frozen a year ago.
Read the changelogReal spaces first
Every feature is proven inside live demo spaces — a coworking floor, a bakery, a retail shop, a sports venue — before it reaches you. If it doesn't survive a real day of operations, it doesn't ship.
