Make it, and the shelf updates

A batch of 40 croissants comes out of the oven. Say how many came out, and the flour, butter and eggs come off the shelf while the croissants go on, at the branch that baked them.

What you can do

  1. Work orders from a recipe

A work order names what you are making and how much. The recipe's ingredients and expected quantities are frozen onto the order the day it is raised.

  2. One step to complete a job

Enter how many came out. The ingredients are taken off the shelf and the finished goods are put on it, against the branch that did the work.

  3. Several outputs from one job

One cut, bake or batch can yield more than one finished item. Each output gets its own count when you complete the job.

  4. Used more than the recipe?

Adjust an ingredient's actual amount. If it is more than the recipe called for, say whether it was used or wasted, and it is recorded that way.

  5. Item history for one branch

Pick an item, a branch and a period. See the opening balance, what came in, what went into production, what was wasted or sold, and what is left.

  6. Book against counted stock

When a stock count was posted in the period, the history sets the counted figure beside the book figure and shows what is unaccounted for.

  7. Only branches that make things

Set which branches can run production. A shop that only sells can hold and sell stock but cannot complete a work order.

Questions about Production

Something else? hello@spaceosapp.com

Does Production show cost or profit?
No. Production tracks quantities only: how much was made and how much was used. It never shows cost or margin, so read its figures as counts, not as profit.
What if I change the recipe after raising a work order?
The order keeps the ingredients and quantities it was raised with. A later recipe change never rewrites what an older job was supposed to use.
Can a job be completed twice by mistake?
No. A completed work order is refused if someone tries to complete it again, so nothing is taken off the shelf twice.
Who can complete a work order?
Viewing work orders and completing them are separate permissions. Staff who can only view see the list, but the Done button stays off for them.
